Women's Center

I spent tonight, as I do every Thursday evening, at the Women's Center. The Women's Center is about 15-20 minutes away from Amman, in a neighboring town. The town is a more poor and conservative area. The Women's Center offers free English, computer and aerobic classes to women in the area.

It's not fairly easy to befriend women in this country. People around here don't just start up conversation at the grocery stores or at Starbucks. Women keep to themselves. Therefore it's more difficult to form friendships with non-Christians here than back home.

The Center offers a great opportunity to get to know women. During the 3 hour classes the women get a 20-30 minute break in the middle. We all sit in the kitchen drinking tea or Nescafe, and eating tea cookies while chatting. It's a great sight to see Christian and Muslim women sitting around chatting, laughing and sharing life stories.

I wish I could spend every day there.

Please pray that I am able to be a light of God's love, and am able to form friendships with these women.
