The 1st and 2nd grade classes have been studying the life of Moses for the last couple of weeks. I learned recently that the very place where the Lord allowed Moses to go to see the Promised Land before he died is right here in Jordan. It's called Mount Nebo and it is a mere 30 minutes away from our school! Joanna (the 1st grade teacher) and I decided to take our kiddos there on a field trip at the conclusion of our Moses study.
We went there today! It was a lot of fun. The kids got to see the Promised Land (Israel). After a morning of rain it was a bit hazy, but we could still see the land from atop the Mount. The kids enjoyed it and kept on saying ..."is that really the Promised Land we learned about?!" It was so precious. It's not very often that a child (or an adult for that matter) gets to see the places they've read and learned about from the Bible. I'm so grateful that I was given the opportunity, and that I was able to share it with my amazing kiddos!
While there we were also able to see some of the amazing mosaics from Madaba, and the famous sculpture of Moses' staff. But best of all was the hazy view of the Lord's land.
